CHICAGO, February 14, 2013 – Trillium CNG is pleased to announce the opening of a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station at the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. RFTA estimates that about one-third of their public bus fleet will run on compressed natural gas by fall 2013.

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority contract was secured through a competitive procurement agreement and reinforces Trillium’s position as a market leader in the important transit sector. “We are pleased and excited to be working with RFTA a recognized leader of innovative solutions within the public transportation sector “said Charles Koontz, Trillium’s Vice President of Commercial Operations. “With over 20 years’ of CNG industry experience, our stations are built to exceed our customer’s expectations while delivering superior quality, reliability and dependability resulting in bottom-line savings.”

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority has been in operation since 1983, and functions as a Regional Transportation Authority. In July 2012, RFTA was recognized by the White House as part of the Transportation Innovators "Champions of Change”; highlighting their construction of VelociRFTA, the first rural bus rapid transit system in the country. The new system will operate with CNG buses and will connect five towns from Glenwood Springs to Aspen, Colorado.
