amp Trillium To Open Dalton, Georgia’s First CNG Station This Summer

Trillium CNG

CHICAGO, Apr. 21, 2015 – amp Trillium, LLC, the joint venture between ampCNG and Trillium CNG, today announced that construction is now underway on the first compressed natural gas station in Dalton, Georgia. Located at 107 Tilton Road SE near exit 326 on Interstate 75, the new station will open in summer 2015 and service all CNG vehicles traveling through Dalton, including Class-8 trucks, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Featuring Trillium CNG’s proprietary fast-fill hydraulic intensifier compressor (HY-C), this new location will enable three Class 8 trucks to fuel simultaneously at ten diesel gallon equivalents per minute. The station marks ampCNG’s second compressed natural gas station in Georgia; in March 2014, the company opened a station in Perry, Georgia to serve Frito-Lay’s fleet. ampCNG currently owns and operates 19 CNG stations nationwide, and plans to open several additional stations throughout the year.

Mark Buckner, Chief Business Development Officer at Dalton Utilities, commented: “In the competitive world of economic development, communities strive to set themselves apart from each other; the station amp Trillium is building gives Dalton a unique asset that surrounding communities do not have. Located near Carbondale Business Park, this CNG station could be the deciding factor behind whether or not companies choose to develop in Whitfield County. We are always looking for more ways to make our community stand out, and amp Trillium’s project is significantly supporting that goal.” Brian Anderson, President & CEO of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, said: “Given Dalton’s proximity to I-75 and the high volume of trucks stopping in Whitfield county to refuel, this CNG station is a welcome addition to our community’s trucking infrastructure.”

Donna Rolf, President of ampCNG, added: “We’re pleased to have broken ground in Dalton and look forward to opening our second CNG station in Georgia later this summer. The new location’s close proximity to Larry McDonald Memorial Highway is ideal for long-haul trucks and will provide a much-needed refueling station for CNG vehicles traveling through Georgia and Tennessee on I-75.”

Mary Boettcher, President of Trillium CNG, said: “We’re committed to making fast-fill CNG readily available to Class-8 fleets in Dalton, Georgia and across the U.S. Fleet operators know we stake our reputation on delivering a great fueling experience for our customers – fast, safe and reliable. Natural gas is the right fuel choice today because it offers less commodity volatility than petroleum resulting in stable retail fuel prices.”
