Secure grants and funding with Trillium

Trillium provides customers the easiest path to cleaner fueling. Part of that journey involves identifying state and federal incentives to cut the cost of compressed natural gas, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, and heavy-duty electric vehicle trucks and accompanying infrastructure. Our team has decades of expertise in procuring grants for our fleet partners transitioning to alternative fuel vehicles or expanding their existing alternative fuel fleet.

Below is a list of some major grants that are open or are slated to open soon. Trillium can assist with grant consideration including grant writing for our customers.

California

San Diego's Clean Air for All Program:

San Diego's "Clean Air for All Program" returned in October, and it combines the district's Carl Moyer, FARMER, and Clean Air Protection Program funding. On-road, off-road and infrastructure projects are all eligible, and there is no limit on the amount of funding that an applicant can request. Please contact Trillium for more information.

Prop1B Opening in the Bay Area:

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has $21 million available in Proposition 1B (Prop1B) funding for on-road vehicles and off-road equipment projects. Funding will be available on a competitive rather than first-come, first-served basis. Projects may occur in any of the state's four goods movement corridors (Bay Area, Central Valley, Los Angeles or San Diego); however, 10% of usage must occur in the Bay Area (to allow the turn-in and new vehicles/equipment to be inspected).

Funding varies by project type, and the maximum incentive for a single vehicle or piece of equipment is $200,000. Please contact Trillium for more information.

Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC):

On Nov. 6, the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) will release solicitations for NZE and ZE on- and off-road equipment domiciled at warehouse, distribution and intermodal facilities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. There will be $20 million available: $6 million for cargo handling equipment and supporting infrastructure and $14 million for Class 7/8 trucks and supporting infrastructure. Applications will be due by Jan. 15, 2021.

Pennsylvania

Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant Program (AFIG) 2020:

This grant covers $100,000 for vehicles or up to the incremental cost, whichever is lower. 50% cost-share is required for infrastructure and innovative technology projects.

Texas

HGAC Clean Vehicles Program and Heavy-Duty Diesel Replacement Program:

This grant is open on a first-come, first-served basis. Private entity applicants may receive a grant package to cover up to 75% of the total eligible project costs. Public and nonprofit entities may receive a grant package that covers up to 100% of the total eligible project costs.

North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) has two programs:

The Clean Fleets North Texas Program is back with $660,000 available. Applications from government fleets or private fleets that contract with governments will be evaluated starting Jan. 8, 2021, and if funding remains, applications will continue to be accepted until April 9, 2021. All fuel types and on-road/off-road projects are eligible; vehicles and equipment must operate primarily in the 12 nonattainment counties of North Central Texas, including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties.

The North Texas Emission Reduction Project is available with $2.3 million in funding. Applications are welcome from private entities looking to replace older diesel on-road vehicle and non-road equipment with a newer model year on-road vehicle or non-road equipment. Vehicle replacement includes over-the-road, long-haul trucks and other freight and goods movement trucks and equipment. Funding levels are 25-45% of the eligible project cost, depending on the project type. Applications are accepted on a competitive basis starting Jan. 8, 2021, and if funding remains, applications will continue to be accepted until April 9, 2021.
